Man arrested in D.C., over bomb threat

A man has been arrested in Washington D.C., after making a bomb threat near Capitol Hill. The man surrendered an hour after the threat had been made and was identified as Floyd Roseberry, aged 49.

While his motive remains unknown, the Capitol Hill police had been in negotiations with the suspect who parked a pick-up truck near the Library of Congress which is situated across the street from Capitol Hill and the Supreme Court. The suspect was seemingly livestreaming the incident on social media.

The staff members present in the area were safely evacuated, congress was on recess.

The man had parked his vehicle and while holding a detonator told an officer his vehicle had a bomb, according to Capitol Police Chief J Thomas Manger.
